Job Title : Academy Coach (Foundation phase U11 - U12)
Place of Work : Foundation Park, CalForth Construction Arena at Tannadice Park, RPC and Baldragon Academy
Status : Part time, approx. 10 - 12hrs per week. Casual
Hours of Work : Flexible, varied as above. Evenings and weekends.
Reporting to : Head of Foundation Phase and Academy Director
Key Relationships : All academy staff, players, parents, and partners.
Salary : Dependant on qualifications and experience.
Start Date : July 2025 following completion of PVG.
Purpose:
To deliver high quality coaching sessions and matchday experiences for players in the youth development phase of the academy.
Role Responsibilities and Duties:
Work as part of our coaching team at a designated age group in the foundation phase (U11 - U12)
• Support the coaching and games programme across foundation phase age groups where required (U10 – U12)
• Plan, deliver and review coaching sessions in line with our playing and coaching principles.
• Lead group, unit and individual training activity as requested by the Head of Phase.
• Oversee group and individual analysis activity for player development on a weekly basis.
• To work closely with athletic development staff to deliver integrated training activities to improve physical performance.
• You will be required to travel between the different locations above as necessary to fulfil your job requirements.
• Attend academy CPD events as requested by the academy leadership team.
• To abide by all club policies including, but not exclusive to, Safeguarding, Equality and Health & Safety.
• To maintain a valid and up to date PVG every three years.
Qualifications and Training:
Essential:
• Advanced Children’s Licence (or working towards).
• Coaching experience at the foundation phase levels of academy football.
• Strong IT and analytical skills particularly proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Keynote.
• Excellent communication and people skills (i.e. developing positive relationships with players, parents, and academy staff).
• Excellent organisational skills with an ability to plan, deliver and evaluate high level coaching activity.
• Ability to work flexible hours in a fast moving, changing environment.
• Ability to relate to and understand children, demonstrating personality and enthusiasm.
• Committed to working evenings and weekends including training sessions, fixtures and in-house CPD training.
• Sensitive to the needs of young players and parents/guardians.
• Full driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• PVG check to be completed before appointment.
Desirable:
• Teaching experience.
• Experience of performance analysis, match coding and delivering analysis presentations.
• Physical performance coaching experience.
• Child and adolescent mental health course or equivalent.
• Valid national sports first aid qualification.
• Additional skill set to enhance the quality of our multi-disciplinary team.
