Dundee United star Vicko Ševelj spoke to the broadcast media to preview our William Hill Premiership clash with Hibernian on Matchday 35.
The tenacious Croat discussed shifting our focus onto the Hibees quickly after a difficult afternoon at Tannadice, the close proximity to Saturday’s opponents and Aberdeen, his smash-hit debut season in tangerine and chasing silverware!
ON MOVING PAST LAST WEEKEND’S DISAPPOINTMENT
It was a disappointing one, of course, as our biggest defeat this season, but I think the first 25-30 minutes was pretty good. We pressed high and created some great chances.
Celtic's quality is evident though, and we couldn't keep that up for 90 minutes. It was a sore one, but we recovered from that. We need to show on Saturday what we are capable of doing between now and the end of the season.
We have four games, four Cup finals left and they are against opponents who aren’t on the same level as Celtic -they are champions of the league. On Saturday we can show real Dundee United again.
ON WHETHER SATURDAY’S MATCH IS A ‘MUST-WIN’
No, I wouldn't say that. There are just three points between us and the team in third place and there are 12 points to play for. We will have to wait and see where we are in a couple of weeks.
We have the best schedule during the last week of the season. We play St. Mirren and then Aberdeen at home, and we feel we can get points away at Rangers too. I don’t think anything is done yet.
ON HIS REFLECTIONS ON A POSITIVE DEBUT SEASON IN SCOTTISH FOOTBALL
I’ve really enjoyed it. It is a long season here and it's the first time that I’ve experienced one without any big break. My game has developed across many aspects of the game because I'm playing against the toughest opposition I have faced in my life.
When you're doing well, everything then is great. Honestly, I didn't expect it to be like that straight away when I arrived here. I'm enjoying my life here and I can't wait for another game to start again!
I didn't know much about the league, I just knew it was just very physical and demanding. I wasn't expecting that I would play so much, but it’s been a great season and hopefully we will finish it even better!
I would love to win some trophies here eventually - that would be a special thing in my life.
ON THE MOOD IN THE TANGERINE CAMP
We are confident that we can play some good football against Hibs. Top six is what we wanted to achieve through the whole season so there are no nerves or something negative feelings. We are just enjoying the final few games of the season.
Heading to Easter Road this weekend, we’ll give everything just like every other match for our supporters.
